Never Forget Chicago is dedicated to providing a sanctuary for victims of Chicago violence so that lost lives are more than numbers and statistics. Never Forget does this by transforming data into personalized visual mementos. Each victim of Chicago violence has a space where their family and friends know they are respected and loved.

2018 took 587 lives before their time due to deliberate or unlawful deaths. We lost many lives, young and old, from many different backgrounds including that of 19-year-old gun violence activist, Delmonte Johnson and known YouTube vlogger, 30-year-old Zack Stoner (ZackTV). We tragically lost lives across the city, from police officer, 53 year old Cmdr. Paul Bauer at Daley Center and 38 year old doctor Tamara O’ Neal at Mercy hospital. While a 86% (505) where killed through gun violence, others were due to stabbings including 32-year-old Andrea Mays,  auto related like 27 year old Yanet Liberato, child abuse like 1-year-old Ahmir Rosario, and police brutality like 15-year-old Steven Rosenthal

Total number of deaths are not exclusively “homicides” but reflect the inclusion of none accidental death that may involve some none explicit “unlawful” death i.e. police shootings or none determined suspicious causes of violent death.
